SB 919 -- CONCEALED WEAPONS SPONSOR: Scott (Rector) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Special Committee on General Laws by a vote of 5 to 0. This bill removes the provision that allows the city council of any third class city to prohibit the carrying of concealed weapons. The use of vagrants found within the city for labor is also removed. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is necessary to remove obsolete and unconstitutionally vague law. Testifying for the bill was Senator Scott.
